Michael Kiwanuka wins the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize for ‘KIWANUKA’
The winner was announced tonight on BBC’s The One Show.
In one of the weirdest years for music ever, the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize arrived as a bit of a celebration, looking back on 12 of the best albums of the last year, and now the winner has been revealed!
The shortlisted artists included Laura Marling, Michael Kiwanuka, Dua Lipa, Porridge Radio, Sports Team, Kano, Anna Meredith, Georgia, Lanterns On The Lake, Moses Boyd, Charli XCX and Stormzy, and Michael Kiwanuka has come out victorious with his fantastic third album ‘KIWANUKA’.
Announced tonight on BBC’s The One Show, the winner was decided by a judging panel including Anna Calvi, Annie Mac, Gaz Coombes, Gemma Cairney, Jorja Smith, Jamie Cullum and more.
